Hello, Detectives!
First off, we know you haven’t heard from us in a bit…we want to be in touch more, so we’ll be posting every quarter, starting with this one, to share important announcements, discuss exciting updates, and make sure you’re in the loop.
For this update, we’re going to be talking about some exciting stuff, like Hunt A Killer’s integration with Relatable, some recent case activity, the state of our online store, supporting classic cases, and a look at the year ahead.
Relatable + Hunt A Killer
As many of you know, Hunt A Killer joined the good folks at Relatable last year (makers of What Do You Meme? and other classic games). So far, we’ve made some great progress developing and implementing plans for the growth of Hunt A Killer by incorporating new and refreshed development and distribution power.
The exciting part is that the core creative team making Hunt A Killer products hasn’t changed—you’ll still see the same names in the credits—but now we’re backed up by brand, sales, and marketing teams to help deliver the best version of our games to the most people.
Recent Wins
Over the past couple years, we’ve focused more on what we call our “retail” experience – all-in-one mysteries available on retail shelves like Target, Walmart and Amazon. These core narrative cases are exciting off-the-shelf experiences that bring the thrill of hunting a killer nationwide. We are constantly finding ways to broaden our availability and are excited to share that we've recently launched in Walmart Canada.
We continue to release new retail cases multiple times per year. You might have been one of the many who enjoyed A Wealth Of Murder which came out last Fall. At the beginning of this year we launched Lakeside Slaughter, a case about a couple renting a lake house for their vacation. It's been our fastest-selling case since we teamed up with Relatable, so thanks to everyone who helped solve it!
Online Store Purchase + Classic Case Support
You may have seen some blasts from the past come out on sale recently on our online shop. Throughout the year we’ll be rolling out limited time sales on past seasons now compiled into full box sets! If you missed a previous season, stay tuned via email or social to see when these go on sale. We’re seeing if there’s an appetite for cases to be available for purchase directly from us online, and what’s better than revisiting some amazing past seasons. You can pick up these classic cases on our website while supplies last, and we’re excited to continue to explore what direct online purchase looks like in the future.
While some cases have new beginnings, others are meeting their end. As they say, all good things… To-date we’ve made over 45 different cases (WOW!). But that also means we need to start pruning the tree. It’s time to say goodbye to some of our oldest cases as we sunset their online support. In 90 days (on June 19, 2025) we’ll be ending online support for the following cases:
- Blair Witch
- Empty Faces
- Earth Break
- Bakers Dozen
- Awakening
- Transformation
- Initiation
- Vindication
Cases that have online support ended are still collectible, but online components of those cases will no longer function.
Additionally, moving forward, new cases will be dated with a 4 year online support guarantee. This means, at a minimum, cases will continue to have online support for 4 years after their initial release. If you’re worried about the classic boxsets we’re putting on sale, don’t, we plan to continue online support for them for the foreseeable future. We’ll let you know the final date for each game as it comes up.
The Year Ahead
Looking at the rest of the year ahead, we can say that 2025 is only going to get more killer (pun intended).
One big change coming soon is a complete game box redesign. Later this year, you’ll see a fresh look to Hunt A Killer, for new and existing retail cases.
Check out a sneak peek below of a work-in-progress design for Lakeside Slaughter.
We’re excited to bring Hunt A Killer front and center in this exciting new packaging design. Now people won’t have to look for a specific case name while browsing in-store or online, they can look for the familiar Hunt A Killer logo. Additionally, we’re bringing the story front and center as we add new visually appealing scenes from the narrative to help set the tone of the case. We’re excited to fully reveal the revamped cases as they roll-out later this year.
As for what else is coming this year, we have 3 new games for the remainder of 2025; one new core case in the classic narrative format you’ve come to recognize, one extra special case, and something else exciting is in the cards. That, is a mystery we will uncover in time…
As always, your feedback, as always, is invaluable to us. We have always strived to learn from the people who play our games and make ourselves better. We hope to continue to hear from you on social (@huntakillerinc). Thank you for sticking with us and we’re excited for more sleuthing in 2025!

UPDATE: 3/27/2025
Detectives, thank you for the feedback on our recent blog post. We’ve heard your concerns loud and clear, and we want to take a moment to address them directly.
We understand the frustration around the decision to end online support for some of our classic cases. We've decided to extend access to those online components through December 31, 2025, to give everyone more time to complete them and enjoy the full experience.
As for why we’re retiring these cases at all—we want to give you a little more context. Some of these cases are pretty old, and the tech behind them hasn’t aged well. Over the years, as platforms and tools have changed, parts of the online experience have started to break down and unfortunately can’t be updated or repaired.
Rather than leave cases in a state where they don’t work as intended, we’re choosing to phase them out thoughtfully and focus our energy on building newer cases with better, more reliable digital features.
To that end, we also wanted to clarify that the 4 years noted above, is a MINIMUM. We have previously supported cases for much longer than 4 years, and plan to continue doing so. However we noted when we first started discussing the sunsetting of some of our classics, that there was never an established lifetime in our cases, so we decided to establish that minimum.
Lastly, starting with Murder at the Motel, we’ve begun releasing completely offline cases. We know that internet access is a great immersion building tool and we are balancing the use of online and offline components. For example, last Fall we released Girl In The Well and A Wealth Of Murder, two games which have no online components, no internet access needed so it can be played anywhere. We plan to continue to release offline cases in the future.
We’re excited to share more updates, and as always, keep on giving us feedback, we’re all ears (and magnifying glasses).
